I used 5.2 balls of Longmeadow in 'Lilac'. I did a single crochet around the entire upper edge and knit two straps that cross in the back. I don't know if the straps will be too short after I wash it or stretch out of shape after wearing the nightie a few times. We'll see. Right now they're the perfect length.

I love that color! Was the yarn easy to work with?
The yarn was easy to work with. It's 3 very thin 2-plies, plied together. So not 6 thin threads, plied together; but 3 strands of 2-plies, plied together.
Sometimes the 3 strands would come undone a bit, as I worked with it, but other than that, it was a breeze. Very soft and the yarn has a small amount of sheen.
I think it came out great!
I think the edging done in the matching color looks really nice. I was all for the darker edging back when you were trying to decide...but I think it's really pretty the way you did it.
